Who We Are

Dr. Hamby grew up in the small town of Picher, Oklahoma with his parents and six siblings. He was an inquisitive child who loved science, math, and solving problems. He worked with his father as a brick mason for several years which allowed him to utilize his creative side and led him to his first career as a Plastics Engineer. He worked in the engineering field for 12 years before deciding he wanted a more “hands-on” career in healthcare. After shadowing a dentist during a mission trip to Brazil, he knew dentistry was the field he wanted to pursue, and hasn’t looked back since! He received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at A.T. Still University - Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health in 2017. He began his dental career at a community health center in Wisconsin providing care to the underserved for three and half years, before relocating to Springfield, MO area to join a private practice in 2020. He knew he wanted to own a private practice and this opportunity presented itself with the purchase of Dr. McQuigg's office in Joplin, MO in October 2023. He and his wife are excited to finally be closer to home and have the opportunity to serve patients in the Four State area.

Dr. Hamby performs all types of family, restorative, and root canal treatment and specializes in cosmetic dentistry and implants. Dr. Hamby enjoys the science behind dental restorations, and his engineering background enables him to approach dentistry with an excellent technical mind. He is also fulfilled by interacting with his patients and helping them reach their ideal smile results, whether through tooth replacement options like implants and crown restorations, or by helping his patients find relief from tooth pain or infection. Dr. Hamby’s passion for dentistry and warm yet meticulous nature make him an outstanding provider within our practice!

Outside the office, Dr. Hamby enjoys staying active through activities like golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, and working out. He also plays drums and guitar and has enjoyed playing music with the worship team at his church. Dr. Hamby is married with 3 kids and 7 grandkids and loves spending time with his growing family.
